Hi, However the comic industry seemed to have completely failed at the tactic how to make the medium more diverse. Instead of letting new people try create new stories, new characters and trying out, what sticks and what does not, the changed the existing characters and the existing stories. In my opinion this was a mistake. A lot of people started reading comics because they liked Tony Stark for example, this also included also minorities. Changing Iron Man to Riri Williams not only made a lot of old fans hat the character, but also a lot of the new fans. Instead of creating a new black girl superhero they rather changed an existing one. And they knew how bad fans react to something like this. They know this for decades already. This created a lot of bad blood which should not have existed in the first place. It feels like a missed opportunity and stupid mistake at the same time. Of course creating new characters is hard and not all of them work. But how else do you want to keep the medium innovative? Please help. I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
